Travel
Cagliari, the capital of Sardinia, may be reached through short connecting flights from most major European cities. We recommend looking for flights that connect through Rome, Milan, or Germany, as this would afford the most flexibility for arranging your arrival and departure. Direct flights are also available to Alghero (AHO) which is located two hours north of Cagliari. Recommended airlines include ITA Airways and Lufthansa/affiliates.
Most flights from the U.S. to Europe are overnight and arrive in the morning of the following day. We recommend booking a ticket with the earliest arriving and connecting flights to mitigate for potential delays.
If possible, we highly recommend booking your ticket with as few stops as possible, with your final destination being Sardinia (either CAG or AHO). Keeping your flights “all on one ticket” (one single purchased ticket from an airline) without self-transfers makes for a much more convenient and less stressful travel time. We also recommend booking tickets directly from the airline when possible, for convenience.
Cagliari Elmas Airport (CAG) is approximately 20 minutes from the city. Taxi/uber services and some public transportation is available, but renting a car for the duration of your stay is the best way to take advantage of everything Cagliari and Sardinia have to offer. Alghero Fertilia airport (AHO) is a two hour drive to Cagliari, through the heart of Sardinia. A rental car would be necessary but is worth it for the views and the countryside.
Please note that some rental car agencies require an international driver’s license, so be sure to inquire with the rental agency beforehand.

There are many options for your stay during your time in Cagliari. We encourage guests from outside of Italy to book their room(s) at the Best Western in Quartu, just outside of Cagliari, or at one of the many hotels or rentals in either Quartu Sant’Elena or on the beach of Poetto. These locations are central and offer all amenities while providing quieter and more accessible locations than you would find in the city center. Feel free to contact us for recommendations!

GIFTS & REGISTRY
Many of you are traveling across the globe to celebrate with us in Sardinia, so your presence means the world to us and is all we ask for. Therefore, we have chosen not to have a registry. If you'd still like to give a gift, we are happy to take contributions to go towards our honeymoon!
